What Is BOTOX?
Dr. Patricia Roach is pleased to offer BOTOX for therapeutic treatment for patients with Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD). BOTOX can provide an effective relief of painful symptoms of TMD, a condition frequently associated with bruxism (teeth grinding and clenching). In cases of TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) pain, BOTOX may work by minimizing muscle activity surrounding the joint, relieving the tightness and tenderness that often contribute to TMJ-related symptoms. To learn more about BOTOX as therapeutic treatment to relieve TMJ pain, please talk with our team and schedule a consultation with Dr. Roach.

How Does BOTOX Work?
As a minimally invasive procedure, BOTOX can generally be administered to target areas within minutes during your dental visit. Dr. Roach will gently inject the BOTOX solution into the masseter muscle of the jaw. You can generally return to your normal routine the same day; however, we recommend that you avoid putting any pressure on the injection area or engaging in any heavy exercise for about 24 hours.
Find Relief and Renewed Confidence with BOTOX
BOTOX will provide relief from the painful symptoms of TMJ dysfunction and bruxism. Patients that are clenchers or bruxers tend to chip or crack their own teeth or restorations. Also, BOTOX is used for patients that have myofascial pain and difficulties opening their mouth. All these symptoms will limit their masticatory function, and BOTOX can help to relieve all these symptoms.
